The owner communicated well and was flexible about check-in when our flight was delayed. We stayed in apartment 3 on the top floor, just off a central road and above an excellent cocktail bar. There’s a lively feel around there, but evenings weren’t too noisy. The city views over the rooftops are good, and the glass walls let in lots of light, though the flat gets quite hot during the day. It’s compact but has what you need, with great water pressure. Fine for two people, though four would probably feel cramped.

Budget Studio 3 suited us perfectly during our Madeira visit in September 2020. It was clean and bright, with nice décor, and I’d happily come back anytime. My photos are from 2020; it seems the apartment has since had new paint and furniture.

A small, cozy place that worked well for me on my own, or for two at most. It’s well located for exploring both the city and the island, and the airport bus stop isn’t far away.
