Pestana Ocean Bay Resort

We had an amazing week and would choose this place again if we get back to Madeira. The terrace is spacious and has a fantastic view. I especially liked the smoking tables, set far enough from other guests that non-smokers aren’t disturbed, while everyone can still enjoy the view. There’s also a nice pool with plenty of chairs and a sauna. Our room was large, clean, and pleasant, with a very comfortable bed and a wonderful view. The food and drinks had plenty of variety, with a different theme each day. Try the sangria. As a vegetarian, I had lots of delicious options, so I wouldn’t worry about finding food. The staff in the dining area were friendly and made sure we had a pleasant experience. The location is amazing, right by the beach. Two younger women at reception were so welcoming and helpful, making check-in smooth and answering our questions about resort rules and local transport. We were greeted with a taste of local wine, liked it so much that we bought three bottles to take home. Thanks to all the hard-working staff!

The hotel is clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It’s in a quieter area, with the sea right in front, and the sound of it lulled us to sleep. We enjoyed walking into Funchal along the beautiful promenade, and bars and restaurants are close by if you want a change. There was plenty of food to choose from, though it could be a little better. I also found the bed too firm and would have liked a mattress topper. Still, we had a lovely holiday, would return, and would recommend it. Thanks to everyone.

We spent a lovely, relaxing week at Pestana Ocean Bay All Inclusive Hotel. The ocean sunsets were beautiful, and our spacious room was comfortable, with the sheets changed daily. The food was fresh and tasty, and we especially enjoyed the white wine. Drinks were good in general, and the service was great too. My wife and I had a really good time.

The views were fantastic, and there was plenty of food to choose from. It’s a great spot for a beach break. While other hotels were right in the middle of town, ours was only a €6 Bolt ride away.
