Coming back to this beautiful home to relax after days exploring the island was the best. It feels like a country manor tucked inside the city, and the whole place is so lovely. Breakfast is simple but really good, with fresh food and fruit from the garden. I stayed here for my entire time in Madeira and think I’ll remember it for the rest of my life. If it’s available when you plan your trip, don’t hesitate to book.

The staff were amazing. Rita welcomed us, and I enjoyed chatting with Margarida each morning while I prepared breakfast for the baby. Our room was spacious, and we had a baby crib, a baby chair in the breakfast room, and access to a small fridge. They also did our laundry for 10€ for washing and drying. The gardens are pretty, and the view from the Quinta is lovely. It’s 10-15 minutes from the city centre. We usually walked down, and several buses stop nearby for the trip back. Bus 26 stops right in front of the Quinta, and there are parking spots in front of the house. I’d recommend staying here. Madeira is relatively small, so you can visit lots of places from Funchal, for example with a rental car.

The house has a great view, and parking was good. Breakfast was fresh, too. Downtown is a 25-minute walk downhill, with a 5 euro taxi ride back. I just wish the room had a garage can. Besides that, it was perfect. Our host, Margarita, was really nice and gave us directions and suggestions on where to go.

We didn’t stay at the Quinta, but the wine tour was AMAZING. Emily was knowledgeable and passionate, and the wine was out of this world. The location is beautiful, and you can see the attention to detail.
