The negative reviews I've read seem harsh to me. There is traffic noise from the road, but not overnight. The apartments were clean and had no mould; during our 5-night stay, cleaners came once. The bedding and towels were clean and good quality. The bathroom could use a stronger extractor fan, and the Wi-Fi was good. As a solo female traveller, I didn't feel unsafe in the area, and there are locals living nearby.

The studios are very comfortable, and the city centre location is excellent.

I've stayed here for 3 years and love coming back. The manager and staff are always friendly and helpful, and we've had really good contact with them. At night the area is quiet, and I feel safe walking in the streets. It is a bit expensive, but I think it's worth it. For me, this is the best accommodation I've stayed in.

I stayed for 14 days in December 2024. The location is central, the Wi-Fi was stable, the bed comfortable, and check-in easy. But the housekeeping was very poor: after four days, the bed was made, just one trash can had been emptied, and the bathroom bin was left. The floor wasn't mopped or vacuumed, towels weren't changed, and toilet paper wasn't replenished. That should all be done daily. Some portal reviews call this place “exceptional”; the price is the only exceptional thing, and it's completely out of proportion to the service. The listing said all rooms have a balcony, but mine didn't. Room number 22 had been confirmed, then shortly before arrival it was changed to room 10. That room has no balcony, just a walled-off area with fences, no view, and walls about 2.5 meters high. It wasn't the advertised “city view.” I told the manager about this and the ants, which were performing a dance, but got no response. It felt like customers were being disregarded. Days later, cleaning staff, who spoke only Portuguese, offered me a different room. I've stayed in Funchal countless times and travelled all over the world, and I've never been so disappointed by accommodation. I feel the contract was made under false pretenses.
