The garden is immaculate and clearly cared for with a lot of love. We were welcomed by Abel, who showed us around and had so many treats ready: homemade flan and tuna, fresh bakery bread, eggs and fruit from the garden, plus drinks and breakfast ingredients in the fridge. Abel and Teresa are such kind, humble people, and the hospitality and generosity were second to none. Edgar was also helpful and quick to respond while booking. This was my second stay, and it was just as amazing as the first. I loved it and can’t wait to come back. The world would be better with more people like them.

I’ve visited more than 25 countries, and this place was unique for me. The building and the way the owner treated me made it the best place I’ve stayed. Great location and a great experience.

The garden and its greenery were so lovely that I could have spent hours wandering around and taking in the views. The location was convenient too, with markets, a pharmacy and cafeteria within walking distance, plus a bus stop nearby for getting to the city centre. The hill down is pretty steep. Edgar, Abel and his wife were incredibly helpful and hospitable, and went out of their way to make the stay feel special. You can tell how much care and passion the owners put into the place. It’s a cosy, welcoming villa, a real gem.

The family were very welcoming, and even let us pick vegetables and fruit from the garden. The apartment has a special view over Funchal and its harbour, with a lovely garden and swimming pool. The furniture and bathroom in apartment 1 are a little old-fashioned.

A spacious place with privacy, a beautiful garden and a fantastic view. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. Getting to the town centre is easy, and parking is good.
