Blue Castle House

Our three-year-old was already saying he wanted to move into our room and didn’t want to go home, which says it all! The place felt warm and family-friendly, with lovely decor and even a staircase I’ve never seen so shiny. The heater was on when we arrived, and the kitchen fireplace was lit, such a cozy touch. Breakfast was delicious, and there’s a beautiful view with a café and pizzeria nearby. The service was thoughtful from the first phone call through to meeting us in person. We’d come back a million times. May God keep blessing you. We were 100% happy.

I found the price high for the quality, and the checkout experience left me unhappy. On the last morning, the same woman told me during breakfast at 9:45 that we had to leave by 10:00. That felt very inconsiderate, especially since in my experience with local accommodation, checkout is usually at 11:30 or noon. The breakfast itself was ordinary, and I didn’t like having the woman there watching me eat the whole time. The rooms and floors also make a difference to how much you enjoy the place. There are lots of indoor stairs, the bedrooms don’t have private bathrooms, and the tiny bathroom serving the ground-floor rooms felt almost like a joke. The flush stopped working on our first night. I wanted to record how dissatisfied I was with this accommodation.

We were welcomed warmly, and the house was very well looked after. All the rooms we used had air conditioning, and we could relax on the sofa and watch TV in the sitting room. It’s a great spot, with parking close by, plenty of places to eat nearby, and only five minutes from the centre.

We stayed here with my family over Christmas, a group of 14 adults and 4 children. The house is big and comfortable, but the sleeping arrangements were badly handled. We paid for 14 adults and were given access to seven rooms without anyone asking whether we were all couples. One adult had to sleep in a cramped bunk bed, another on the sofa, while other rooms were locked. We asked if they could open even one more room and got no answer. I thought the hosts were very poor and distrustful. They also suggested we had a dog and said they would check the cameras, which I don’t think is allowed. I’m leaving this review to express my disappointment.
