Baluarte da Vila Apartments

The location was fantastic, and the staff were really nice and helpful. A great stay, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a nice few days in Lagos. There’s no dining on site, but we knew that when we booked :)

The views were amazing, and the warm, helpful staff made the stay even better. My husband and I spent three nights at Baluarte da Vila Apartments while visiting Algarve. The studio was spacious and clean, with a comfortable bed, a large shower, a TV we never used, and a small kitchenette. The buildings aren’t new, but they’re lovely and reasonably priced. The location is a big plus: walk down narrow cobblestone streets to shops and restaurants, or head uphill past the fire station for lovely river views, the boardwalk to the lighthouse, and the Atlantic Ocean. I highly recommend it.

We stayed for three nights, and the staff member at reception was so kind and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. My family and I felt welcome, and the client service was excellent. The apartment was comfortable, clean, and spacious for two adults and two kids, ages 8 and 11. It had the basics we needed to make breakfast. The rooftop Terrace was AMAZING, with chairs, tables, loungers, and a lovely view over the city and ocean. The pool was clean, big, and didn’t feel crowded. The location put us right among lots of restaurants and bars. There’s no hotel parking, but we found parking easily. We only needed the car for other cities and beaches since everything was a 2 to 20 minute walk. Highly recommend, we’ll be back soon!

I felt very safe on my solo trip. The building and my door were locked at all times, and the daily cleaning was a nice touch. Communication before arrival was great, and the front desk staff were always friendly and helpful. The location is great too, close to the trails leading to several beaches. Coming back from town or the marina means walking uphill, but it’s not too bad. Definitely good value!
