Pensão Mar Azul

We spent five nights here and really enjoyed it. The room looked out over the main waterway, though the balcony was extremely small, and the bed was very comfortable. It’s right among everything, with even a small grocery store close by. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the price was very reasonable. We’d highly recommend it.

The proprietor was always happy to answer our questions, and the room was clean and just right each night when we returned. The shower had great heat and water pressure, probably the best one I had on the whole trip. We picked this little B&B because of the location, one block from the river, with lovely views and a tiny patio where we chilled some wine. We also got an unasked-for free upgrade to a room with a nicer view after another tenant canceled. The service is what made us remember the place.

We were only a 10-15 minute walk from the bus station and the footbridge to the marina and beach, and the hotel is right in the heart of Lagos. The owner and staff were so kind and helpful. Our room was spotless, with a modern bathroom, air conditioning, and a TV. Breakfast was great, simple but just right, with fresh croissants before we headed out. I’d stay again in a heartbeat.

We paid 150 euros total for three nights, which felt like great value. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed, and the hotel is right in the center. There’s free parking near the harbor, about a 15-minute walk away. Breakfast is minimal, though there are enough alternatives nearby. It gets pretty noisy from the street and other guests until around 10 p.m., but the night itself is quiet.
