Lagos City Center Guest House & Hostel

My booking was paid and accepted at 10:45pm. I walked over and reached the door at 11:02, but everything was shut and no one answered the phone. I ended up sleeping in my car, and without that I would have been on the street. They kept the money over a two-minute delay and left someone stranded. It shows a lack of humanity and an understanding of their service's role in the community.

After the Fisherman's Trail, we stayed here and were very happy with what we got for the price: a clean, comfortable room, private bathroom, kitchen facilities, and friendly staff. It had everything we needed.

We booked a triple room for one night. It had a nice balcony and seemed lovely, but the next day we found bed bug bites all over our bodies. Reception said the manager turns his phone off, even when there was a health issue. We had to cancel our plans, hurry to a pharmacy, and spend hours treating our clothes and bags so we wouldn't take anything with us. There was no apology, follow-up, or accountability. When I explained how serious it was, they told me, “Go ahead and write your bad review, we don’t give free stays to avoid fake reviews.” I wasn't asking for a free night, just basic hygiene and a responsible response. That reply says a lot about how little they care about guests' wellbeing. After we took our bags, we saw they'd already given the same room to other people. Avoid this place.

The private patio was lovely, and check-in at the office next door was very easy. I was there with a friend, and the large, soft double bed meant we didn't wake each other during the night. Our private bathroom was great too. The kitchen was adequate, and there was a good clothesline for drying laundry. One of the downstairs dorm rooms faces the street, so light sleepers may want to keep that in mind.
