York House had a relaxed atmosphere, and we made plenty of use of the pool. The staff were very friendly and there every day. The beach is just five minutes away, with a great choice of restaurants right by it. Lagos's busy center is a 25-minute walk from York House, which was handy for walking off our meals.

The place is right in front of the beach, about a 10-minute walk away, and the staff are so friendly. It's an amazing holiday home, with around eight rooms, most of them en-suite, plus a big pool with plenty of sunbeds and an outdoor BBQ area. Our room was cool and spacious. The fresh, washed towels still smelled old, so I wish they were changed now and then. The pool also needs cleaning every morning, and the big tree could be cut back sometimes since it blocks too much sun over the pool after 1pm. We'd definitely come again.

The location and pool were great for beach visits or setting off to explore anywhere in the Algarve. Antonio was a great host, sharing stories and information about the region and his life, and the landlady was keen to help. It's not a five-star hotel, but there's a lot to like. Thanks for having us, we had a great seven days.

The terrace has an amazing view. We were upgraded to a room with a kitchen and everything we needed. I'd recommend it.
