Engenho Hostel

The house and rooms are modern and very clean, with a nice ocean view. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the location is great. What bothered me was the lack of privacy: the bathroom's sliding barn door wouldn't lock or stay shut, and there was a huge gap beside it. The walls were paper thin, so we could hear every word from the next room even when the people weren't yelling. If you don't mind those privacy issues, the location could still make it worth staying here.

The staff were superb, and I’d definitely stay here again on my next trip to Pico. My room had an amazing view of the mountain of Pico, and the whole place felt cozy, with beautiful architecture and design. It’s a modern, recently renovated building with a fully equipped, functional kitchen. The location is right in the center of the village, just steps from a beautiful natural pool and the whale watching agencies. It works well whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, with friends, or with family.

It was easy and pleasant to walk around this small, beautiful village because everything is close by, from the sea and port to the pool, market, restaurants, shops, and church. The building has been modernized recently, and it was clean and neat. The workers were helpful, kind, and honest. I hope to come back, and I highly recommend it.

A separate family room makes this a great choice for families. The location is amazing, the room and beds were super comfortable, and the bathrooms were great. Everything felt clean and fresh, with tasteful decor and ambience. It's an easy choice for a stay in Pico.
