The apartment was lovely to look at, and we slept really comfortably. What made the stay special was the family care behind it all. Casa da Azenha has a beautiful garden among the vineyards, and the whole place felt like a little paradise in the Douro Valley. We felt as if we were visiting relatives we love. I’d happily recommend it for a peaceful getaway.

Casa da Azenha has such a welcoming feel, with old-fashioned character mixed in with modern touches. The service was warm and attentive, too, and we felt genuinely looked after. A lovely spot for relaxing and enjoying time together. I’d gladly return and recommend it.

The breakfast was amazing, and the staff were so friendly. We loved the grounds and how central the place is. Wish we’d had more time here. We’d definitely stay again and recommend it.

Lidia went well beyond what I expected. She helped us find a local restaurant, sorted lunch for our mountain outing, pointed out sightseeing highlights, and even called ahead to recommend restaurants for later in our trip. After the hectic pace of Porto, this was a lovely place to unwind during our two days here on a roundtrip.

The gardens were beautifully kept and the pool area was in good shape. From Lidia and Ginja welcoming us at the gate through to leaving, the stay felt like a dream in the Portuguese countryside. Thanks to Casa da Azenda for the kindness and recommendations. It was a memorable visit, and we’ll tell our friends to stay here as they travel through the Duoro Valley.
