Tryp Leiria by Wyndham

I’ve stayed here several times for work, and the location is great. It’s close to the river and near enough to walk into the city centre. The hotel itself is nice and serves a great breakfast. The rooms are pleasant and have everything you need. There’s also a garage and an electric vehicle charging point if you need one. The gym is very small, and some of the equipment could use an update, but it has everything I need.

The staff spoke both English and Portuguese, which helped a lot since I speak very little Portuguese. The rooms are well equipped, though they don’t have regular coffee machines, so we didn’t use that. After one shower, it seemed like we couldn’t get hot water, so we waited until the next morning for the other shower. There’s a fantastic Italian restaurant a couple of blocks away.

TRYP Leiria is in a convenient spot for getting around the city, whether you’re visiting for work or a short sightseeing trip. The rooms are spacious, modern, and comfortable, with well-appointed bathrooms and plush bedding. The hotel also seemed very clean throughout. Breakfast was a real highlight, with plenty of good options, including fresh pastries and hot dishes, all nicely presented and full of flavor. The staff were attentive and professional, and their warmth helped make the place feel welcoming. The hotel offers a comfortable, high-end stay, and I’d recommend it. Rating: 9/10.

I was only staying overnight while riding north to Viseu, and the hotel was easy to reach from the N1. I parked my motorbike in the layby at the front, but when I needed to leave in the morning, inconsiderate parking had blocked me in. Reception was friendly and efficient. My room was clean and comfortable, with the facilities I’d expect from a Wyndham hotel. I skipped the hotel restaurant because I was too hungry to wait for it to open in the evening, but there are plenty of other places to eat a short walk away. Breakfast was included, very good, and had lots of choices, so the stay felt like good value. I’m sure a longer visit would be enjoyable.
