7 Luz Hostel

It wasn’t a great place. We arrived really late and didn’t feel up to checking anything else, so we only slept on the bed, fully clothed.

It’s a quiet hostel in a perfect city location, and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were lovely and patient. The rooms are very basic, but they work well for hostel travellers. The bed, mattress, and pillows are low quality, though at this price they’re not bad. The bathroom facilities are similar. I’d recommend it.

The price was the one real plus, and it’s close to the bus station. We only booked one night, which was enough. The shared areas and bathroom were filthy, the sheets had dirty stains, and guests were loud overnight. The bed was really uncomfortable, and the room doors were broken enough that you could see straight into the room. Even if it costs more, we’ll stay somewhere else next time.

The service was genuinely nice, and there were enough clean bathrooms. We got a clean room, then managed to lock ourselves inside, so the staff had to come help us out. The only odd thing was the mattress, which was still wrapped in its original plastic and made strange noises. Otherwise, it was a really good one-night stay.
