Although the rooms have been remodeled, ours, called Calçada, was very dirty. There was grime in corners that looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for years, plus bugs, dusty surfaces, and mold on the curtains that triggered my allergies. The whole place smelled damp, and the shower drain didn't empty properly. It's in Olivais, a calm neighborhood, but a long way from the center and the main city attractions. We contacted the owners, who said they'd send a cleaning team, but said we'd need to be there to let them in or leave a key. We were out visiting the city for our Easter holiday, so that wasn't possible. I did wonder whether they didn't trust the cleaners with a key, or simply didn't have spare copies, despite using codes for the other doors.
6/10
The rooms are cute and the place is really clean, but the location feels like the middle of nowhere, with no restaurants or shops around. It's handy if you've missed a flight. I was also frustrated by the 2 euro Portuguese tax, since they made it difficult to add to my credit card. Music was very loud at night, then there was banging early in the morning.

The staff were friendly and really helpful. The bedroom design is great, and everything smells brand new because it is. Ideal for a night near the airport.
8/10
The building looks pretty shabby, but the rooms on the 6th floor are excellent. For a city hotel by a major airport, it's great value. I'd stay again for a night or two.
2/10
There wasn't anywhere to leave my luggage while I went around the city. The employee was extremely rude, and the front desk hadn't told me about the strict check-in and check-out times.
