Lisbon Hostel Terminal 3

This was scary. I booked a hostel for the night because I had an early morning flight. I arrived at 5 p.m. and found it closed, with no phone number and no replies to my messages. I also lost the amount I'd paid through Booking. In such an unfamiliar neighborhood, the whole situation felt awful.

I was a little uneasy after reading the recent Google reviews, but took a chance and everything went smoothly. I'd definitely recommend it. After I booked, the property sent a message with an Online Checkin link. I filled in the form and paid the €4 city tax at the end. Then they sent the full directions and door code. You can show up whenever, enter with the code and settle in. The outside isn't much to look at, in what seems like an inexpensive residential area (who wants to live next to the airport?), but inside is much nicer. The place was clean and nicely decorated, with a fully furnished kitchen and living room. There was one bathroom for the eight bunk beds across both bedrooms. I stayed in bedroom 1. It was basic, with small cupboards for each guest, A/C and room for four people in two bunk beds. There were eight working power plugs around the bottom bunks, but none within reach of the top bunks. I walked 20 minutes from the airport and felt safe enough. For the price, I thought it was really good value.

After a long flight, customs and everything else, we had to find somewhere to sleep at 10:30 at night. We'd booked and paid, then paid the requested city taxes, but never received a reply, an entry code or an answer to our calls and emails. We arrived after 10 hours of flying to find the place closed. It looked as if it hadn't been open for months. A big scam, beware.

About a 25-minute walk from Lisbon Airport, this is a convenient, clean and affordable place to stay overnight between flights, or if you're on a budget while visiting the city.
