Hotel Roma

Inside, the hotel was clean and well looked after, even if the outside looks a little dated. My room was spotless and had everything I needed, and there was a good choice of food at breakfast. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I was there for three nights with a tour group, and I’ll be back at the end of the tour to catch my flight home. I’m happy about that.

The hotel is okay and close to the metro, though a long way from the city center. Housekeeping kept taking the towels, so by my second day I had only one left. I got food poisoning from the restaurant. When I let the hotel know the next morning, all they said was “ok.” I wasn’t asking for compensation, just wanted them to know, and that lack of care was really disappointing. I was very weak, but managed to pull myself together for a long train ride. The hotel I stayed at afterward showed me more care.

The beds were comfortable, breakfast was decent, and the hotel was clean and right by the metro. My one complaint is the lifts: there are only two for all those rooms, they’re pretty small, and they work on different systems, so you have to press two buttons to call them.

Once you’re through the front doors, the inside is a pleasant surprise, since the building exterior isn’t much to look at. We were upgraded to a suite, which I’d recommend for a stay longer than one night. It was spacious and had a private balcony. Breakfast was included and had lots of choices. The staff and service were top notch, always friendly and ready to help. The metro is just up the street, with a grocery store and plenty of restaurants nearby. I’d definitely stay here again.
