Santa Justa 24 Apartments

It felt like a home, and we'd happily consider staying again. Estela replied quickly whenever we had questions, and the clean, well-organized apartment had what we needed to make a simple dinner. Its central location also made it a great base for a few days in Lisbon. A couple of things weren't working properly, including the rain shower and the doorknob. A few extra kitchen garbage bags would have helped, too.

We had plenty of room in the large apartment, and the air conditioning made nights comfortable. The location was great for seeing Lisbon, and Estella, the manager, was helpful when we ran into problems with the check-in information. A few details could use more attention: the fridge was warm when we arrived, a towel had a hole, and the shower shelf was loose. None of that spoiled the holiday, but fixing those small things would have made the apartment feel more finished and earned it five stars.

The location is excellent, and the apartment has enough space for a family. The rest of our stay was a series of serious problems. The elevator broke, so we had to carry all our luggage up the stairs, and there was no spare set of sheets to change into. One bed still had dirty, smelly linen covered in body hair. The first night, the hot water ran out, leaving us with cold showers or no shower at all. Noise from the street came through the poor insulation all night, making sleep impossible. They waived the 60 euro cleaning fee, but that didn't make up for leaving used sheets on a bed. Changing every bed's linen should be basic, and the place otherwise offered only the bare basics.

We stayed in apartment 4D for four days. With the windows and outside roller shutters closed and the air conditioning on, it was surprisingly quiet inside, and we slept well in the comfortable beds. The rooms were clean, nicely decorated, and furnished well; the living room was pleasant and the air conditioning worked fine. The host was easy to reach by email and WhatsApp, and gave clear instructions for check-in and using the lift. Right in Lisbon's busy tourist center, the location was great. One shower head had a broken outer sleeve but still worked. The fridge smelled strongly enough that we didn't use it during our stay, and it could do with a clean. The wooden floors are thin and carry noise from upstairs, especially when the neighbors walk heavily. Overall, we liked the facilities, beds, and communication.
