The owner’s response to our complaints made an already very disappointing stay worse. After we sent photos of the problems, he blocked us on WhatsApp. He insulted us and blamed “bad guests” instead of apologizing or offering compensation. Other reviews suggest this may be a recurring pattern. Being met with insults, no real dialogue, and no transparency when raising concrete issues left us feeling the owner was rude, arrogant, and uninterested in guests’ well-being. It showed a serious lack of professionalism and respect, and left me with the impression that he was dishonest and irresponsible with people’s money and trust. There were many hygiene and maintenance problems. The bedding and towels were visibly dirty, and the room was far worse than the photos on Booking suggested. The space around the bed was much smaller than pictured, the door swung open by itself unless locked, and the walls between units were very thin. Heating came from an old oil radiator kept in the closet, which had to be brought out, and the room needed frequent airing. That’s far from a modern standard. We found hairs from previous guests in the bathroom, and the toilet brush was too dirty to use. There were several kinds of insects in the kitchen and shared spaces, including a cockroach, which was unacceptable when cleaning was included in the price. It was clear to us that bedding and towels weren’t being changed or washed after every guest. That’s a basic standard, and may have been why you and your wife became sick on the last day of the stay.
