The staff and hosts were incredibly friendly, but too many little problems lowered my rating. The room was very damp and hard to warm with the makeshift radiator, even though I’m not sensitive to cold. The window took so much force to open that I worried it might break. The toilet wouldn’t flush until I fixed it, and the taps dripped. At least the TV has regular channels, instead of the subscription-based streaming services many places use now.

The location is very convenient for the beach and for hiking the Fisherman’s Trail. Staff were wonderful, and though the room was basic, it was very clean and had no major problems. We’d stay again if we return to the area.

The attached restaurant was the one letdown. The serving staff there seemed so clearly unhappy in their jobs that it spoiled what had otherwise been a very pleasant stay. Management should think twice about employing people who come across that way. The guesthouse itself was clean and comfortable, handy for a short visit and conveniently set between town and the beach. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.

After a long, hot day of walking the Fisherman's Way, that spectacular pool was just what our little group needed. We’d found a fantastic little place that felt like a home away from home.
