The setting is incredible, with a pool, billiards and hammocks, and breakfast brought to the house was lovely. We had to set out and wash the dishes ourselves, though, which would have been good to know ahead of time. The kitchen had the basics and good equipment, there was a free fruit basket, online self check-in was easy, and the Wi-Fi was strong. A few things brought the stay down. The owners felt a bit too absent, so the experience was anonymous, and the guest instructions were incomplete or out of date. Our shower still wasn't fixed after we reported it on the first day. There were lots of ants in the house, the bathroom ceiling was starting to mold from the humidity, and some of the play equipment was damaged or incomplete. A small shop with basics like water, beer and wine on site would have been useful. I can see the potential for five stars with more attention to detail.

A good choice for a relaxed family holiday or a stay with friends. The house has all the comforts, and access to the games room and pool is included. Getting there is tricky, so I wouldn't recommend it without a car. It's fairly remote, which is nice for resting but makes supermarket trips a bit of a hassle. The nearest one was about a 15-minute drive away. Since the pool is shared, it could use more sun loungers and umbrellas.
