Da Silva Surfcamp

The team made us feel like extended family. Everyone was so welcoming, and the place was really clean. The food was delicious and clearly made with care. They also put on fun things like table soccer competitions and karaoke, and you can swim, borrow a bike for a ride or pet the goats. Great for kids too. I’ve had surf lessons in a few parts of the world, and these were the best so far. They teach you the skills to get started, keep you motivated and go the extra mile to make it fun. They were wonderful with kids: my eight-year-old daughter didn't enjoy surfing and quit her last lesson at Macao Beach after half an hour, but she had such a good time here and gained confidence in the water that she signed up for a two-week course. They speak three languages, so everyone, especially the kids, can communicate easily. If you need anything, they do their best to sort it out. They even made calls for us because we don't speak Portuguese. I could go on about how great the experience was. The prices are good too, affordable even for me as a part-time working single mum. We'll definitely come back.

A very down-to-earth camp with a family feel. I love Daniel's relaxed spirit; it reminds you to slow down and unwind, something people from big towns often forget. Christina and her Happy Horses were lovely to experience, both with kids and for anyone who just loves horses like me. :D :D

We booked a spot in their dedicated campervan area the day before, and the guy replied quickly and was helpful before and during our stay. It's a nice parking area at the surf camp with access to an outdoor kitchen, shower and bathroom, plus electricity. We paid 30€ for a campervan and two adults. The scenery is lovely, and there's a very cute little goat farm too. It's about 20 minutes from Peniche, so not right by the city, but it worked perfectly for an overnight stop. I do think the bathrooms could be cleaner.

We had a great stay at Da Silva Surfcamp. My friend and I came in our van, and it was great to find a surf camp that also has a camping option. The instructors explain things really well, and I improved quickly during the surf course. There are plenty of ways to spend time after the daily lesson: relax by the pool, head to nearby beaches or visit Peniche. Don't miss the barbecue, it was amazing. It seems especially suited to families, but it works well for all kinds of travellers too.
