Cerdeira - Home for Creativity

Irene from reception was kind, efficient, and very helpful. Her suggestions for restaurants and activities were great, and we hope to join a workshop next time. Our group of eight, including two children, spent three nights at Cardeira - Home for Creativity. The views were stunning, and the houses were beautifully designed and well equipped. The stay exceeded our expectations in every way. Thank you for such lovely memories.

The cottage was beautifully designed, with natural wood and live-edge details, a kitchen, and two balconies. Surrounded by Portugal's mountains and forests, it felt like being immersed in nature. Parking is a bit of a walk away, so a smaller bag is handy for carrying things up the stairs. We were glad we brought groceries because the remote location has limited dining options, though that added to the experience. We had a lovely dinner on the balcony with incredible views and woke to a mystical fog. Getting there was part of the adventure, with a scenic drive up a steep, single-lane mountain road. The stone homes built into the mountainside looked like something out of a fantasy novel. Our stay at Cerdeira - Home for Creativity was completely unexpected and absolutely incredible, a perfect place to relax and recharge halfway through our trip. Truly unforgettable.

The people in charge were incredibly helpful, and both breakfast and dinner were excellent. We had a very pleasant balcony and the house was lovely and well equipped, with a heating system that worked perfectly, much needed in February. A beautiful village too. Many thanks!

We loved our time in the Vale Cottage at Cerdeira. It was one of the highlights of our four weeks on the road. The views were unbeatable, and waking to the fresh forest smell was unforgettable. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh local products and delicious coffee. The kitchen had what we needed, and supermarkets were just a 15-minute drive away. It's a family-friendly place, with plenty to do nearby, including hiking and swimming in the natural pool. Arriving with lots of luggage was difficult because the parking is far away and the route involves stairs and a narrow path. It would have been great to have someone from the hotel help carry things. We stayed in August, and the cottages got quite hot at night without AC. We didn't mind, since we're used to the heat, but it might be less pleasant with small children or an elderly person.
