Quinta de Lourosa

Paulo shared lots of useful information and recommendations, which we appreciated. The vineyard surroundings are lovely, and the rustic property is beautiful. Breakfast and service were great, and everything was clean and pleasant. The pool is big, and we had it to ourselves most days. The bed was firmer than I prefer, and you can hear traffic from the bridge, at least from the side we stayed on, but it didn't bother us too much. Great value for the money. A car helps if you want to see the area and nearby cities, though Uber is available locally. Thanks for a great stay!

We loved the tour of the vineyard and winery. Joana was so generous with her time, and her experience and knowledge made it a pleasure to learn from her. Afterwards, she arranged a tasting, and the Lourosa wines were gorgeous. We hope to find them back in the UK. She also took such good care of us throughout our two-night stay, making it feel special and memorable. The Quinta is full of charm and character, and the online photos don't do it justice. It's a beautiful, quiet spot about half an hour's drive from Porto. There are only six rooms, and the pool was often empty, so we had hours of privacy and relaxation. For getting to local restaurants, we used the local taxi service the Quinta recommended. It was cheap and easy, though you may need a car to get around. Breakfast was abundant, and there's a lovely kitchen guests can use whenever they like. They gave us a fridge shelf, so we stocked up on lunches before arriving, which worked perfectly. We wish we'd stayed longer and will definitely be back. Thank you, Joana, for exactly the stay we needed!

The wine tasting was one of the best parts of our Portugal road trip in July, and we left with more than a handful of bottles to take home. My girlfriend and I hadn't realized we needed a reservation, but José still managed to put something together for us. He was a wonderful host, clearly proud of the wines and the vineyard's history and property. We enjoyed every wine we tried. It sounds like booking ahead makes for a great experience, so we'd recommend doing that. This is a late review, but we hope to return one day. Thank you, José!

Such a beautiful winery, and the wine was delicious. Our hosts were warm, funny and clearly passionate about what they do, which made the tasting a joy. A phenomenal place and a brilliant experience.
