A disaster. We’re checking out and finding somewhere else, because there’s no reason to ruin the rest of our holiday by staying here. Our bedroom is below what seems to be the upstairs living area. The people above are just walking around their rental, nothing unusual, but the noise is absolutely unacceptable. It sounds like a square dance up there, and downstairs we’re left worrying someone might come through the ceiling. Truly unfortunate. This place had such potential.

The owners made us feel at home, always ready to help, share great pointers or even come along and show us what they meant. Those thoughtful touches turned what could have been just another trip into a great experience. This is easily one of the most magical places I’ve spent a holiday. I can’t find the words for how beautiful it is. I’ve already booked a couple more weeks for next year. Totally worth it.

At night the sky is so extraordinarily clear that you can see all the constellations. This charming house, with its traditional old southern Portuguese architecture, has breathtaking views. It’s just outside Lagos and five minutes from beautiful Praia da Luz.

A handy Airbnb spot for relaxing, close to the city area. It gets really quiet at night, so it’s great for a good sleep.
