The rooms were freezing, the apartment hadn’t been cleaned properly, and the promised breakfast and useful information never materialized. The person who greeted us didn’t seem to know our reservation or activities, and we felt left to manage everything ourselves. We’d booked horseback rides well ahead, but they never happened. There was no explanation or communication, which felt completely disrespectful to guests. From beginning to end, the whole stay felt chaotic and unprofessional. The setting could be beautiful, but the place felt neglected, disorganized and unready for visitors. It ruined my Christmas holidays, and I left feeling that nobody cared about our time or money. Beautiful setting, terrible management. I do not recommend it.

The horses were so sweet, and the quinta is gorgeous. Tomas is the best! We had such a beautiful morning riding through the countryside.

We really enjoyed our classical riding lessons with Tomaz. The horses were well trained, and Tomaz was patient throughout. English wasn’t his main language, but a friend helped with communication and was a great help. We didn’t stay in their rooms on this trip, though I’ll consider them next time. For the lesson, we took an Uber from our Lisbon hotel and asked the driver to wait. That was probably easier than trying to find another Uber afterward. Renting a car is another option if you’re comfortable driving. It was our first time in Portugal, so we weren’t quite comfortable hiring a car and driving around. Maybe next time.

I came for our first vacation stop and, after three nights, really didn’t want to leave. Antonia and Tomaz are such lovely people and do everything they can for their guests. Breakfast was excellent, with everyone gathered around one table, and Antonia gave us some great sightseeing recommendations. The room was cosy, the beds comfortable, and the fireplace was my favourite part. One night Tomaz even came to our door to help with the fire. I also had a classical dressage lesson with Tomaz, which was a dream come true for me. I miss this place, Antonia, Tomaz and all the animals so much. I’ll definitely come back.

A must visit in Malveira! The hosts were amazing and friendly, the rooms spacious and comfortable, and the horseback rides through the beautiful countryside were wonderful.
