Hotel ViaNorte

The wood looks beautiful, and breakfast is great. But the lighting is terrible, there’s no outlet by the bed, and the toilet ran all night.

The staff were polite, but the hotel administration’s response was not what we expected. We’d booked by phone for a training camp in Maia, and as an international athlete, I came expecting rooms like the ones shown on Google. Instead, the room was in really poor shape for what we paid, and the air conditioning didn’t work at all in the current heat. The hotel was under maintenance, which we understand, but we weren’t allowed to see the rooms before paying because we were told they were fully booked. We had to find another hotel straight away. We asked for a refund, but the hotel is reluctant to issue one.

A lovely, quaint hotel, especially on a sunny day, with a beautiful pool. The only drawback is getting around by public transport. The nearest metro is a 20-25 minute walk. I’d definitely recommend it.

The rooms were clean enough, and the bed in particular was cleaned well. But the bathroom was awkward to use, with just a bath and no separate shower, so showering got the floor wet. There was no hairdryer or other extras. I spent two weeks here and had no hot water for the first two days. The restaurant wasn’t good quality. Both breakfast and dinner were simple, low-quality food. The location makes sense if you need to be at the Lionessa Business Hub, but there isn’t much else nearby. There are a few work spots downstairs, though the screens have no dock or cable to connect to. I’d go to the businesshub to work. All in all, I’d choose a different hotel.
