The hostel was full when we arrived, and we saw several people turned away and sent on to the next town, so I’d email ahead to book. You can only book by email, which is unusual, and it’s a little walk off the trail. Still, it’s a great pilgrim stay: friendly, attentive staff, comfortable beds, and modern hostel rooms. There’s a well-stocked kitchen, Lidl is five minutes away on foot, and the showers have strong pressure and plenty of hot water. We loved our stay.

The guy at check-in was very welcoming, and the double room cost €35, which seemed good value. It’s basic accommodation on the Camino, about 1.7k outside Mealhada. There’s a spacious outdoor area, a great supermarket, and a good restaurant nearby. The busy road close by wasn’t noisy. Kitchen facilities are very limited, and one staff member was quite rude.

After a long day walking, the quiet, relaxed feel here is a real comfort. It’s just off the Camino, and you can reach the back entrance through the park. Most beds are singles rather than bunks, with proper sheets and blankets, and there’s even hand soap in the bathroom. The place is clean and simple, with a covered patio for rainy weather. Wine and beer are sold at fair prices, and local bars and shops are nearby since there are no communal meals. Wi-Fi works well where you need it, and the atmosphere feels supportive without being overbearing.

A comfortable bed, cotton sheets, a great shower with strong pressure, and access to a kitchen. A good pilgrim stop for 12 euros.
