Small and lovely, furnished with care and attention to detail. Paula was a warm, thoughtful host and had plenty of ideas for restaurants and things to do in town and nearby. I slept really well and enjoyed the stay a lot.

We were cycling for two weeks when Rui and his wife welcomed us at short notice and took care of everything we needed, and more. They gave us recommendations and information, plus special help arranging transportation for our bikes to Lisbon. The room was clean, with a lovely river view, and there was a nice shared rooftop for morning coffee. Number one host in Portugal!

Terrible, I wouldn't go back. I paid 85€ for one night, and the bed made a lot of noise whenever I turned over. The bathroom was outside the room, even though it was private, which was really annoying. It wasn't very clean, and after a shower in the bathroom you were sweating again. There was no TV, and there was also a door in the middle of the room leading somewhere else. The only good thing was the view from the window. For 85€ in Mértola, there are much better places to stay. The good thing was that it had great air conditioning!
