Hotel Miranda do Douro D. Joao III

The room was average in size, with a comfortable bed, but there were no fixtures in the bathroom for hanging towels or clothes. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise with a good variety. It’s a little outside town, with an Intermarche supermarket nearby.

The breakfast was awful too, with dry, burnt cakes and peeled boiled eggs that were all dirty. The whole “hotel” felt terribly neglected. Good luck to whoever stays next. The room stank of sewage, a dead animal, and body odor. The chair was broken, and the blind kept closing by itself, so we couldn’t leave it open. The bed was supposed to be a double but was a single for two people. The shower was too short and had no holder, so I had to crouch to bathe. There was loads of noise in the corridors, and apparently everyone decided to shower from 5 a.m. I’m giving one star because zero isn’t an option.

We were so happy with our weekend here. We wanted a quiet, family-friendly place with a personal touch where we could relax and switch off, and that’s what we found. Our daughter and pet came along too. The rooms matched the pictures, with a rustic feel, plenty of space, and a very large bathroom. There are lots of toys and rustic play areas for children, plus typical products for sale. In the hallways, there’s gym equipment, a fridge to keep drinks cold, and a microwave for heating things up. It felt like a very family-friendly place. Best regards.
