Quinta de la Barandica

The kids love all the things to do here, from the pool and playground to the tennis court. It’s a very pretty rural house with every comfort you can imagine, and the breakfast is spectacular. Domingos puts together some beautiful, surprising hikes, and Teresa is a real charmer. We’ve stayed here again already and will definitely return. THANK YOU SO MUCH, TERESA AND DOMINGOS!!! Many kisses from Sandro and Claudia in León.

We’ve been three times now, and love the place more with each visit. It’s a wonderful country house, carefully maintained, with superb facilities and a personal, welcoming touch that makes it feel like much more than somewhere to sleep. There are different options at different times of year, and tourism is top-notch both at the house and around the area. We love coming here to relax and switch off with such welcoming people.

The owners make this place feel welcoming, and the homemade breakfast is delicious. Rooms are roomy and well equipped, with a pool and a nicely cared-for outdoor area. It’s a little outside Miranda do Douro, but set up well for a comfortable holiday and fairly priced. I’d recommend it.

The pool was a nice way to unwind, and we got to enjoy the local food too. I especially won’t forget the breakfasts and lunches here. We also explored the area, with the friendly owner helping us get tickets for a Douro River cruise. Quintas de la Barandica gave us a wonderful weekend away from city life. When stress catches up with us next year, we’ll come back for a few more relaxing days with these lovely people. Thank you!
