Casas de Campo da Quinta Entre Rios

The room was as expected, and the location is very good, just a few minutes from the centre of Mirandela. There’s parking on the property, and the area is extremely quiet, great for clearing your head from everyday chaos. The staff’s friendliness deserves a mention, and the pool and surrounding area were five-star. One suggestion: breakfast is very basic, just bread, jam, toast, milk, coffee, and juice. The food was already on the table before we arrived, so it would be nice if it were served when guests came down.

The good parts were the pool, the air conditioning in the room, the well-kept green space, D. Patrícia’s kindness, and the city of Mirandela. The owner, though, left a lot to be desired. She immediately said there was no Wi-Fi in the rooms and that we’d have to use our mobile data. She seemed very unprofessional and unavailable when guests had problems, as if she only cared about making money. We were left with a bed that creaked so badly we couldn’t sleep, and she showed no interest in sorting it out. I was 34 weeks pregnant. The stay had already been paid for, after all. On the second night, there was a wedding at the quinta, and she hadn’t warned us. The party went on past midnight. Breakfast was good but felt rationed, with a set portion at each table. The owner also pressured guests to say what time they’d eat, so there was no real freedom to choose anytime between 8 and 10. There didn’t seem to be any rubbish bins around the grounds either, perhaps to save on labour. We did appreciate D. Patrícia and the grounds, but we wouldn’t stay here again.

We were charged a lot for very little. There’s no breakfast, not even a welcome piece of fruit in such a well-known agricultural area. After we checked in and paid in cash in advance, we never saw anyone again. It felt like we were being charged while they were doing us a favour, and the welcome was not hospitable. The place was freezing, and the heating couldn’t warm an area that size. A heater in the bedroom would have been such an easy fix, so the lack of one felt careless. Almost everything was reduced to the bare minimum or less: no coffee, tea, kitchen cloth, or napkins, no toiletries in the bathroom, not even a glass for brushing your teeth. We won’t return, and I don’t recommend it.

I had a really unpleasant stay at this quinta. The room was extremely hot, with no air conditioning, and there was no mini-fridge to cool some water for the night. The heat was no joke. The bed, if you could call it that, was more like a tiny fold-out sofa. It was made of wood, and that was all I could feel against my back when I lay down. There was barely any room to move, and no real comfort. I called the owner to complain about all of this. He apologized a lot and said the money would be refunded, but nothing has happened so far. I definitely don’t recommend it.
