Octant Hotels - Vila Monte

The À Terra restaurant was easily the highlight for us. The kitchen team served one delicious dish after another. If the price makes you hesitate, go for it, including starters and dessert. It was absolutely worth it. Breakfast was excellent too, fresh and with plenty of choice. Eating outside under the trees was gorgeous, though a little chilly in the evenings in March. We came in March, when the spacious grounds were already green and lovely. It was incredibly quiet and relaxed, with a personal feel, almost like staying with friends at a hacienda. We knew construction was underway, but there was no bothersome noise. Half the resort was inaccessible, though the property is so large that this wasn't a problem. We're excited to see how magnificent it looks when finished. The Kids Club deserves a special mention. Our daughter had never wanted to use one before, but she did here. It's nestled in nature, just a minute from breakfast or our room, with a welcoming setting, a great concept, and fantastic staff. We also enjoyed the heated pool. In March, another 1-2 degrees of warmth would have been the icing on the cake, but it was fine as it was. Our room was stylish, with a rustic stone floor that suited the atmosphere. The floor made it a little hard to describe the feeling of cleanliness, even though the room really was clean. The air conditioning made a slight gurgling sound even when switched off, probably because of the previous construction phase and having sat unused for a while. Service rounded out the stay. The staff were excellent, very friendly and authentic, and the parking and valet service both worked flawlessly. A wonderful place to slow down and unwind!
