Quality Inn Montalegre

I had dinner here on Friday 13 and didn't have a good experience. The food wasn't that great, though the staff were friendly.

The restaurant is TOP TOP TOP. The food is always perfect, and the prices are very good for a hotel. The pool is also very good. It feels cold at first, but then you realize it's a good temperature for being eco friendly and comfortable. The Jacuzzi was fantastic. I was sorry that the other HealthClub services weren't operating, like the Turkish bath. Our room was large, with a perfect temperature and a great amount of storage. The mattress and pillows were a little soft for my taste, but that didn't affect my sleep, and the extra bed for our 4 year old daughter was comfortable enough. Breakfast was very good, with scrambled eggs, croissants, butter, ham, coffee, and everything you'd expect. I didn't expect a SMART TV, and even watched a few films from a USB stick. The service could be friendlier, though it varied by person. Some greeted us every time we passed, while others didn't even look up. The pool water could have been clearer, and the area around it better kept. Those inconsistent services are why I can't give five stars. Even so, I'll return and recommend it to everyone.

The experience was awful, and I'll never go back. The staff weren't very welcoming, except for the cleaning staff, and this didn't feel like a four star hotel. When it was time to put my child to bed, the sheets were all dirty, although the bed had been made neatly. I asked for clean sheets, and then found the pillowcase was very neatly ironed and folded but completely damp. The pool walls and floor were dirty, and the gardens near the pool were poorly cared for. I also disliked the breakfast staff member's attitude. He wasn't friendly or helpful after I chose a different table from the one he wanted me to use, which was beside a door where I'd have felt the morning chill. From then on, I wasn't treated normally.

I stayed at the hotel on 6 February 2017, and it was a terrible experience. The air conditioning was broken, so they left a fan in the room. We went to the spa, but it was freezing and quite run down. There was no light in the changing rooms, bathroom, or Turkish bath. When we got back to the room to shower, there was no hot water. We ended up leaving the hotel and sleeping somewhere else. The hotel isn't fit to be open.
