The area is lovely and the people are kind, but we were very disappointed with the establishment. We were charged £75 for rooms advertised at £65, and she was super arrogant when we raised it. Our room also had a serious ant problem. A whole colony kept coming from behind the bed frame, so I had to pull the bed base away from the wall to keep them off the bed. We stayed three nights, and our towels were changed only once. For £75 a night, I expected clean towels and decent shower gel and shampoo. Instead, she passed off hand soap as both, and my cousin in the room next door developed an irritation on her back from it. She was generally unpleasant to communicate with. Judging by her passive aggressive replies to some reviews, this seems to be how she is, rather than just a bad day.

We had a lovely dinner, especially the fantastic veal medallions, and the service was very friendly. The hotel is small, with pleasant looking, newly refurbished rooms. We visited in early October, when the pool wasn't ready to use. That didn't bother us, since there are nice freshwater pools throughout the national park.

The lake in front of the building was dried out, and the hotel felt very old fashioned. We also had trouble getting service. When we asked for a beer or cocktail, the response was, “English, no!” and the person left the room. Breakfast wasn't good either. The coffee machine was the only thing that worked properly. The fruit was rotten, and everything else seemed to have been put out without much effort.

The room was very nice, with a great balcony view, but there was a lot of noise. At 9 o'clock they started cleaning the room next door. Breakfast had a huge queue, like a canteen, and there wasn't much variety. Just an average stay.

A lovely, family friendly place with good beds, friendly people, and good parking.
