Hotel Mar Bravo

The seafood rice, a typical Nazaré dish, was delicious. We ordered the one-person serving, but it could easily have fed two. The shrimp risotto was one of the best I’ve ever had, and the seafood soup was warm, tasty, and comforting. We had a lovely lunch, with great food and service.

We’d happily stay here again on another trip to Nazaré. The location is lovely, with the balcony looking over the square and beach, and both the reception and restaurant staff were friendly. We ate at the restaurant on our first night and really enjoyed the food. Our three-night visit was in February, including two nights during Carnaval. The hotel warned us by email that it would be loud and offered free cancellation, but we were still glad we stayed. The rooms are simple, clean, and were cleaned to a high standard each day. We arrived just after the major storm, and the hotel was still dealing with the damage. The front door was temporary and the outdoor seating area wasn’t available, but they’d done a great job cleaning up after the devastation.

Our family of five, including older teenagers, all loved the location in Nazare. The staff were warm and welcoming, and every room we had faced the ocean and was spotless, with lovely beds and linen. It has a nice boutique feel. Breakfast was great, too. On our final morning we had to leave very early, and they kindly got up to pack us breakfast. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Mar Bravo and would highly recommend it.

The food was fantastic at this delicious restaurant in an amazing town. We tried the grilled Dorada with vegetables and sirloin with potatoes au gratin. The seafood soup appetizer was excellent as well, and the service was great.
