Zulla Nazaré Surf Village

We were especially grateful to the staff, who went above and beyond when we ran into a travel problem and helped us sort it out. The hotel really is a gem, with clean, comfortable rooms, a terrific pool with lots of loungers and umbrellas, and a delightful breakfast. Thank you!

We stayed two nights to take in the surf village atmosphere, and I liked how the place was set up. It's a 10-minute walk to the world-famous Nazare lighthouse and surf break. It's not really surf season now, so some facilities aren't available. There's no dining on site, but several decent places to eat are within walking distance near the town square. The accommodation is clean and simple, with most of the facilities you'd find at other surfing homestays, like hot showers, communal dining space, and a pool. I can imagine how packed it gets once the swell arrives.

The rooms were on the small side, and breakfast was very bland.

We loved staying in the upper part of Nazaré, where it was calmer and we got to discover more of the city. Over our four nights last summer, we really enjoyed the room, pool, breakfast, and surf classes. The roof bar was a particular favorite, with drinks and live music every day before dinner.
