The place, its setting, the owners, and the service all deserve far more than five stars. I got to know Quinta after it changed owners, when it was called Quinta de Carvalho Lys and operated as local accommodation. It later had to stop, unfortunately, because the government’s hard-to-understand rules and bureaucracy can ruin good tourism businesses. It was only a few minutes from the famous Passadiços de Paiva. Its 9.4 score in the Guest Review Awards 2017 says a lot too.
