Casa da Cisaltina

We chose this place for our honeymoon, and I’m glad we did. Fatima and Louisa treated us like family and gave us memories we’ll keep for a lifetime. The first-floor master bedroom had a breathtaking view, and Fatima helped us sort out car rental issues. Breakfast was heavenly, with lots of different breads, and the kitchen was even better suited to our needs than expected. I highly recommend staying here.

We only booked two days here, which was our one regret. The family who runs the hotel are lovely and helpful, and the surroundings are stunning. Ask for herbal tea and you can get a great selection of herbs growing in the garden. Much of the generous breakfast is homemade. The rooms have an older style that we liked, though it might not suit everyone.

The room had a strong musty, moldy smell, and the wallpaper was peeling in several spots with mold showing through. There was even a dead fly beside it. We left after just 10 minutes and had to find somewhere else for three nights, which cost us a lot of stress and nearly a full vacation day. I know the humidity there can make it hard to keep rooms in good shape, but this was completely unacceptable.

Fátima and Sandra looked after us so well, and they were both incredibly lovely. They made breakfast each morning and pointed us toward great places to visit. The location is beautiful, and the rooms are cozy and well kept. I’d definitely recommend staying here and would come back.
