The owners were awesome, and breakfast was good with plenty to eat. Zenit house is in a great location and has a lot of character. It’s a quirky spot in a very old building, with stairs to our room barely wide enough for my shoulders. We’d spent a couple of nights at a fancy Lisbon hotel that felt nothing like Zenit house, and I enjoyed this place more. Just to be clear, Zenit house doesn’t have a pool, and I never saw it advertised as having one, despite what a previous one-star review said.

They were very nice and accommodating, and let me check in late and use the pool after checkout. I’d booked through the American Airlines website, which may have played a big part in what happened. I’d noted my late arrival in the special requests and sent two more emails asking about late check-in and the airport shuttle mentioned on the website, but couldn’t reach them, even by phone. When I arrived, the room didn’t look like the pictures.

The house felt like a cosy, relaxing fisherman’s home, with comfort and everything we needed. It was fully equipped, the appliances were easy to use, and we appreciated the extra bathroom items. The ceiling and decoration were stunning and unlike anything I’d seen before. Rose and Gino made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They’re genuinely kind and sweet hosts, and it really makes a difference when people care so much about their guests. Our stay at Rose and Gino’s place was amazing. We’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Olhão or the area, and hope to come back. Thank you, Rose and Gino, for making our stay so special.

The rooftop was so nice, and the place was really clean with some upgrades. Gino was amazing, with plenty of tips on where to go and what to eat.

We only got to spend one night here, unfortunately. It’s a super charming place among narrow pedestrian streets, with all the amenities we needed and a really beautiful rooftop.
