Zen Vouga is a very peaceful BnB, a great spot to unwind and get a good night's sleep.

I think we may simply have been unlucky, but the stay was far from pleasant. The Casa do Forno was untidy and the outdoor area had little lighting. Worse, an electrical panel problem caused a power failure overnight. We had no lights or heating on one of the coldest nights of the year, and it was impossible to sleep because of the cold. The stay fell short of expectations.
The host was extremely attentive and friendly, and the accommodation was comfortable with all the conveniences we needed. A wonderful experience. We highly recommend it! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The place has excellent local character, fresh air, and atmosphere. Conditions are almost Spartan, with some concessions to comfort, which is what you'd expect in a mountain village. Still, I recommend a visit :)) It's a quiet, gated complex in a small village far from the big cities, with three houses, a barbecue house, a woodshed, a pool, and orange, kiwi, persimmon, and walnut trees. A car is essential. Getting there means an eight-kilometer mountain road, then narrow village streets. We stayed in two of the three houses: one family had a separate house, while two families shared a larger one across the first and second floors. Everyone had a separate entrance. In the morning, village roosters woke us, and cats were already waiting for breakfast outside, as they came every morning and evening. We started the day by lighting the fireplace, since there would be no hot water or heating without it. About half an hour later, the radiators were warm and the shower had hot water. The owner had closed the pool for winter, but we didn't need it anyway. We usually cooked dinner over a fire at the separate fire pit, which had all the necessary equipment. The village shop is about a 15-minute walk away, though it has little choice. The nearest LIDL is around 12 kilometers away, so stock up before returning to the villa. Expect insects, especially flies, and don't count on absolute cleanliness in a village house. Porto is 90 kilometers away, Viseo 60, the ocean more than 50, and Aveiro just over 60. The closest gas station is about three kilometers away.
The house was great and really well equipped, and the owner's hospitality was excellent. The owner was very friendly and always ready to help. There was a little stream about 100m away, very peaceful and still under construction. By the pool there was a barbecue, ping pong, and table football, and the house had board games too. The pool could be covered or left open. I loved my stay and recommend it. I'll be back soon.
