Hotel Torre de Gomariz Wine & Spa

We had a wonderful three-day stay at Torre De Gomariz. Every meal was delicious and outstanding, and my wife really enjoyed her spa treatments. The peaceful winery and spa, lovely gardens and views, and spacious, comfortable rooms made it a great visit. Everyone on staff was warm and gracious. Special thanks to Abel, Nuno, and Tiago. Highly recommended.

The outdoor pool isn’t heated, though the spa has a nice heated indoor pool. Set among vineyards near Braga, this modern hotel has very spacious rooms with nice balconies. The restaurant is good, and the service is too.

We stayed in the Camellia Suite, which was large and had lovely views across the winery, pool, and property. A chilled bottle of wine made by the winery was waiting in our room, and we were offered welcome drinks when we arrived. We also had the coursed dinner with wine tasting, which we enjoyed, and the server was pleasant. Being able to order breakfast to the room was a nice option. The Camellia spa was a highlight for us. We both enjoyed the duo massage and the refreshments served outside by the winery afterward, while we were still in our robes. It’s a quiet, relaxing Wine & Spa Resort, just right for a peaceful stay with your loved one. We had an amazing time and would definitely return.

The grounds are beautiful, the receptionist was very kind, and dinner was amazing. They easily made me a special vegan meal without any fuss. But I’d tell people to skip the spa massages and save their money. We booked a 90-minute couples treatment with facials for 5pm and arrived early to use the sauna and Turkish bath. Only one of them was available. At 5:45 we still hadn’t been called, and then had to wait again after soaking our feet for five minutes in a bowl too small for my partner. They never checked whether the pressure was okay, and we were leaving the room by 6:55. That wasn’t 90 minutes of service, and we felt overcharged and disappointed. At this price, I expected much better care and attention. We said we were disappointed at the end and were ignored. There was so much walking around during the treatment that I thought someone else was in the room, until I realized it was my partner’s therapist. It’s uncomfortable to be vulnerable on a table while someone moves around like that. The room should have been better prepared for such an expensive treatment. The music also stopped at one point, and it took discussion and several clicks to get it going again. This felt like training rather than professional service. We never spend 300 euro on a massage, and I expected more for that price. The hotel isn’t secluded, since it’s near town. Dogs barked through the night, and I could hear them through the tower room windows even with ear plugs in. White noise machines in the rooms might help. The tower room mattress was the worst I’ve experienced, and the duvet smelled like sweaty men. It needs a deep cleaning.
