The view was wonderful, with the hostel right at the end of the coastline, and everything felt clean and cozy. I stayed for three days in July and had a great time. The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional. I mentioned my dietary needs once, then didn’t have to worry about them again: everyone knew, and each meal I ordered was made to suit me and was delicious. Thanks to Malu Hostel and the team for a lovely stay. I’ll definitely return and recommend it to friends. :)

We stopped in for lunch after a swim and it was a great choice. The service was warm and friendly, the food was amazing, and the relaxed music set just the right mood. We’ll be back. We also checked out the surf dorms, which looked really cool, and saw there’s pool access next door. The place is right across from the beach.

Right by the sea, Ricardo's place is something special. The octopus was delicious, the best I’ve ever tried, and there was a really good choice of wine and cocktails. Thanks to the whole staff, who were very kind.

We arrived at 9pm to find the hostel closed, in a town with few places to stay. It took two calls before they told us they were cancelling our booking. There’d been no email or message, and they haven’t replied to any of the emails we’ve sent since. At this point, I believe they may be keeping deposits and then cancelling on people. I wouldn’t normally post something like this, but as a woman who travels alone, I felt other people should be warned.

They cancelled my booking just three hours before I was due to arrive. I’d booked through hostelworld and emailed to ask how best to get there, but got no reply until I followed up the day before. If you need an actual place to stay, don’t waste your time booking here.
