Vista Mare Beach Apartments

We booked this apartment for the beach and the sea view, which had doubled the price, but both were a huge disappointment. Giant diggers were working on sand hills right in front of the windows and balcony, blocking most of the view. The beach was closed for construction, with three loud machines running from morning until night, so it wasn't possible to enjoy the vacation. We understand the owner couldn't control the beach works, but they had started before we arrived and we expected to be told our stay would be affected. We didn't contact Booking.com straight away because we were repeatedly told construction would be over the next day. We stayed several more days, still hoping to use the beach and see the water, and wanting to avoid the hassle of moving. Halfway through the stay the work was still going, so we contacted Booking for urgent customer support and booked another apartment. The apartment itself was a complete nightmare, the worst holiday we've had. It wasn't ready when we arrived: dirty towels, no sheets and no toilet paper. The shower leaked and flooded the bathroom each time. They said they'd bring extra towels because of the leak, but we waited days. Several things didn't work, including the blinds, curtain rail, washing machine, and the balcony door wouldn't lock. The promised deal at the nearby bike rental was just the regular advertised price. Noise from the apartment above was incredibly loud, from both the occupants and the cleaners, even with earplugs.
