This small family-run restaurant is in Paredes de Coura, a village tucked into a valley below Peneda Gerês National Park in the Northern Minho Region. It feels like one of Portugal’s best kept secrets. Narciso and all the staff were so friendly and attentive that my friends, who were visiting for the first time, felt like we were eating at home. We tried the exquisite “Cachena” steak and delicious “Frango no Churrasco” (grilled chicken), and enjoyed every bite. It’s a small place with a family atmosphere, so book a table ahead. They can also make various typical Minho dishes if you let them know a few days in advance.
