The area is nice for a day trip, but looking back, I wouldn't stay here again. We came to northern Portugal to see a waterfall and chose Geres after reading all the reviews. It started raining in the afternoon, and the whole place felt a bit depressing. The hotel had the kind of atmosphere you might find in eastern Germany. Breakfast was fine, but the rooms felt old-fashioned and dated. We only saw the owners once, at check-in.

We were really pleased with the hospitality and the good breakfast. The place was clean and close to great restaurants, with two different hiking trails nearby.

This is a no-frills place, with furnishings and fixtures that are definitely a bit vintage, but everything worked and was clean and comfortable. I especially liked the memory foam mattress and pillows, which gave me a really good night's rest. My husband and I enjoyed our one-night stay in a mountain-view room. The breakfast buffet had a simple but good selection. We paid €48, which felt like good value, and have no complaints.

I was very happy with our stay and can definitely recommend this hotel if you happen to be nearby. The room was great compared with other hotels, even ones that cost more. The price also included useful extras like soap, towels, a hair dryer and a mini fridge, plus a delicious breakfast.

The value for the price is great. The rooms were very clean, had air conditioning, and looked out onto the mountain landscape. The staff were very friendly. Sometimes there was a little noise or music from the village night bar, but it wasn't a big problem for me.
