For a peaceful break, the facilities are just right. João was really helpful and shared some great ideas for things to do.

The rooms are spacious and clean, and the price is great. Breakfast was a real treat: Portuguese bread, homemade preserves, a new homemade cake each morning, thinly sliced ham and cheese, fresh orange juice, coffee, tea, fruit, and more. The service was both warm and professional, the friendliest you could hope for.

João and his mother made us feel so welcome, and everything we ate was delicious. My wife and I had wandered around the pedras Salgadas area and stopped at Casa Fontes for an early, light dinner in the restaurant/petiscos. We shared moelas, pataniscas, a cheese plate with homemade jam, regional bread, and olives. If we visit again next summer, we’ll definitely plan to eat there and stay the night. There’s plenty to do nearby, especially at the wonderful Pedras Salgadas nature park and pools just down the road. Highly recommend it!

Ask for João, he’ll be a great guide to the region. This is a good spot to stop for a drink, and the Franzinskaner beer on tap is delicious!

The hotel was spotless, from the room to every other corner, and the team paid attention to every detail. Service felt personal and professional. If you’re doing Route 2, I’d say staying here is almost a must. Congratulations, and thank you!
