HD Duecitânia Design Hotel

There’s plenty to do outdoors around the hotel, and it has both indoor and outdoor pools. The food is great and the staff are excellent. A very good place to spend a few days, or even half a month.

I was here for a work retreat. The rooms were peaceful and clean, the modern design was tasteful, and the food was excellent. Service was great too. Highly recommended!

The staff were very nice as usual, though during breakfast it took a little while to refill food that had run out. They responded right away when we asked. There was a good choice at the continental breakfast: cereals and toppings, sweet items, fruit, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, baked York-style bacon, cold cuts, a few kinds of cheese, tasty coffee and tea, plus breads and pastries. Kids have space to enjoy themselves. For the price, the services are pretty good compared with nearby places, which are much poorer, whether larger or privately run. These were the downsides 😉 The room we had was quite dated, with ugly carpet marks, mold on the walls, and water running down the windows. We booked a Superior room, but there was no face mirror next to the big bathroom mirror. There were gaps between the bath and wall, the toilet seat wasn’t fitted properly, and the white bathroom stool needed a proper scrub. The interior and furniture felt mismatched, with nothing “Roman” about it. The plastic chairs were horrible and hard. Even the modern table lamp felt off. The hotel needs someone with a better eye for the basics, though that doesn’t have to mean hiring an expensive designer. Also, the safe was in a cupboard but wasn’t fixed down. Someone wouldn’t even need to break into it, they could just carry the whole box away 🤪 One more thing: if you want to use the pool or jacuzzi, you need your own swimming cap or have to pay €3 for one at reception. There was no warning about this when booking.

The parts we saw of the hotel, not the bedrooms, were clean, smart, and tastefully done. The staff were welcoming and spoke English. Last week we spent a couple of very pleasant hours there, using the indoor and outdoor pools (€5 per person) and getting drinks and snacks at the bar. We’re looking forward to coming back soon.
