The houses are distinctive, comfortable, and designed and run with care for the environment. The location and setting were unlike anything I’ve seen before. The owners and staff were warm, accommodating, and exceptionally friendly. We had everything we needed, plus an introduction to local culture through the lodging, food, and staff. Nature Houses could be a destination in Portugal in its own right, especially for hikers and cyclists.

A lovely rural stay in a traditional stone village near Coimbra. The hosts were welcoming, the rooms beautifully furnished, and there are trails for walking and biking, or just taking it easy. Breakfast came with delicious freshly baked bread. Highly recommend.

The area is breathtaking, and it was so peaceful in March. We had great service, and both the food and setting were wonderful. They serve goat and pork, and clearly know how to cook them: slow cooked, the pork in white wine and the goat in red. Recommended if you’re visiting this restaurant.

Pedro and Sofia have built a beautiful, amazing place, and they’re wonderful hosts too. We spent two nights there and had a lovely time close to nature.

We had no complaints apart from the old, ineffective light bulbs and the lack of natural ventilation. A highly recommendable place, especially for the natural pool and architectural design.
