Maura and Paulo make you feel genuinely looked after, as if they've opened their own home to you. Since the hostel used to be a family residence, it has that home away from home feeling, and it’s more like a B&B than a hostel. It’s also the cleanest and best organized hostel I’ve stayed in. The guests and volunteers are warm, curious people with great energy, and there are two surf sessions a day. Paulo has surfed for years and knows the breaks well. He’ll drive you to them himself. A few boards could use some care, but everything you need is there. I came as a solo traveler looking for surf in Portugal, and I loved the people I met. Wish I could’ve stayed longer, and I’ll definitely stay again.

The owners were so helpful when my bus got into Peniche at 23:00. Even though check-in normally ends at 20:30, I could arrive late without any trouble. I spent a couple of nights here in April and had a great stay. The hostel is clean, the rooms are cozy, and breakfast was lovely. They’re attentive and happy to help with whatever you need. There are lots of social events too, so I’d especially recommend it to solo travelers.

I don’t surf, but it was clear this place is set up well for surfers. The hosts keep a close watch on conditions and rent out good quality gear. The couple running it are welcoming and help keep the social vibe relaxed and friendly, which is great when you’re traveling alone. Best hostel I’ve stayed at, and I’m already hoping to come back soon.

The hostel is spotless, and you can tell they take pride in keeping it that way. They put on something every night, which makes it easy to meet people, especially if you're traveling solo. Surfboard rental is very reasonably priced too. 10/10, I'd stay again.
